Accommodation solutions

Accommodation solutions for businesses, project teams and organisations

MJ3 Relocations sources and manages furnished short-term accommodation across the UK. Two pathways run through this page: contractor and workforce accommodation for construction, engineering and infrastructure teams working away from home, and insurance alternative accommodation for households displaced by insured property damage. One specialist provider, one point of contact, whichever requirement you are arranging.

    Two service pathways

Choose the requirement you are arranging.

The two services are run separately because they are booked by different people, for different reasons, with different priorities. Each has its own service page with the detail behind it.

    Contractor & Workforce Accommodation

For contractors, employees, workforces and project teams working away from home. Used by construction, engineering and infrastructure companies, main contractors and subcontractors, and employers housing their own staff. Furnished properties with kitchens, laundry and living space, parking where the property allows, located as close to site as is realistic in that area, and invoiced to the business.

    • Individual workers through to crews across several properties
    • Stays from a short mobilisation to a full programme
    • One contact for the whole requirement

    Insurance Alternative Accommodation

For insurers, loss adjusters, relocation providers and claims or assistance teams arranging temporary accommodation for a household displaced by insured property damage, such as fire, flood or escape of water. We match the household to a furnished home that suits their circumstances and coordinate the stay while reinstatement works are carried out. We source and manage accommodation only; we do not assess or approve claims.

    • Family-suitable furnished homes with normal living facilities
    • Pets, schools and commuting taken into account where possible
    • Extensions subject to availability and agreed terms
    Who MJ3 helps

The accommodation problem, by the people who have it.

Requirements are not interchangeable. A site team mobilising twelve trades and a loss adjuster rehousing a family of four need very different things, so we work from the brief rather than a fixed package.

    Construction & engineering companies

Crews mobilising to a site well away from home, usually at short notice and for a programme length nobody can pin down precisely.

    Contractors & subcontractors

A few trades who need somewhere practical to stay, park the van and cook, rather than a hotel room with no kitchen.

    Project & site teams

Accommodation that has to be organised alongside everything else on the programme, then changed again when dates move.

    HR & workforce teams

Employees working away or relocating, who have to be housed somewhere suitable with the cost accounted for cleanly.

    Procurement & commercial teams

Accommodation spend that needs to sit on an invoice against a project entity or purchase order, not a pile of card receipts.

Insurers, loss adjusters & relocation providers

A household displaced by insured damage who need a normal home to live in while reinstatement works are carried out.

    Accommodation requirements

What we are usually asked to source.

All of the below are within scope, subject to availability in the area and at the time of enquiry. If a requirement is not realistic, we would rather say so at the brief stage than at the door.

    Individual workers

A single engineer, surveyor or supervisor working away for a defined period.

    Small teams

Two to six people, sharing a property or in separate rooms depending on the job.

    Larger workforces

Several properties held in one area where a single house will not cover the numbers.

    Project teams

Mixed groups of staff and contractors working to the same programme dates.

    Temporary assignments

Short mobilisations, cover periods and secondments lasting a few weeks.

    Longer project stays

Stays running for months alongside a programme, under the agreed booking terms.

    Displaced households

Families and individuals who cannot live at home after insured property damage.

    Multi-property requirements

More than one property in the same area, coordinated through one contact.

    Why businesses use MJ3

A specialist handling the accommodation, so you can handle the job.

The practical value is in what the property contains, where it sits, and how little of your week it takes up.

    • Furnished properties set up for stays measured in weeks and months rather than nights
    • Kitchens, so people can cook normally instead of eating out every evening
    • Laundry facilities in the property, which matters on any longer stay
    • Living space to eat, sit and work in, not a single room
    • Wi-Fi where provided, for calls, reporting, schoolwork and downtime
    • Parking for cars and work vans where the property allows it
    • Locations chosen for practical reasons: travel time to site, schools, or the family's normal routine
    • One point of contact for the whole requirement, rather than several booking desks
    • Invoiced to the organisation arranging the stay, with a purchase order reference where needed
    • A named contact who stays available for changes and extensions during the stay
    Suitability

Hotels and furnished accommodation solve different problems.

A hotel is often the right answer for a night or two. Furnished accommodation tends to suit longer stays, teams, project workers and families who need normal day-to-day living facilities. It is a question of suitability rather than one option always beating the other.

    Teams and families
Separate rooms, sometimes split across properties when a hotel fills up.
A whole property for a crew or a household, or several properties in the same area.

    • Number of people staying, or the size of the household
    • Required start date
    • Expected length of stay
    • Bedrooms required and whether sharing is acceptable
    • Parking requirements
    • Pets, schools or access needs where relevant
    • The billing entity or reference the invoice should carry
    Where we operate

UK-wide, with detail where we work most.

We source accommodation across the UK. Availability varies by location and by when you ask, so we will tell you what is realistic in a given area rather than promise stock everywhere. The cities below are the ones we work in most regularly, each with local detail on areas, access and demand.

    Questions

    Frequently asked questions

What accommodation solutions does MJ3 Relocations provide?
MJ3 Relocations sources and manages furnished short-term accommodation across the UK for two main purposes: contractor, workforce and project accommodation for organisations housing people working away from home, and insurance alternative accommodation for households displaced by insured property damage. MJ3 Relocations is the customer-facing brand of MJ3 Management Solutions Ltd.
    Who is contractor accommodation for?
It is used by construction, engineering and infrastructure companies, main contractors and subcontractors, project and site managers, and HR or workforce teams housing employees away from home. Requirements differ between them, so we work from the specific brief rather than a standard package.
What is workforce or project accommodation?
It is furnished accommodation arranged around a project rather than a nightly tariff: properties with kitchens, laundry and living space, chosen for practical reasons such as travel time to site and parking, and invoiced to the organisation paying for the stay.
    Can you accommodate project teams?
Yes. We source accommodation for teams as a whole property for a crew, or as several properties in the same area where people need their own space or the numbers are too high for one house. Tell us how many people are staying and whether sharing is acceptable.
    What is insurance alternative accommodation?
Alternative accommodation, sometimes called AA or decant accommodation, is temporary furnished housing for a household that cannot live at home after an insured event such as fire, flood or escape of water. It is arranged for the period the property is being repaired, so the family can continue their normal routine.
Who can request insurance alternative accommodation?
Requirements normally come from insurers, loss adjusters, relocation providers and claims or assistance teams arranging accommodation on behalf of a policyholder. MJ3 Relocations sources and manages the accommodation only; we do not assess, approve or administer insurance claims.
Can accommodation be arranged for longer stays?
Yes. Stays can run from a short mobilisation or initial placement through to several months, arranged around the booking terms agreed for the property concerned.
Can requirements change during a project or temporary stay?
Programmes slip and reinstatement works can take longer than expected, so accommodation usually has to move with them. Extensions and changes to numbers or dates can often be arranged, subject to availability and the agreed booking terms. The earlier your contact knows, the more options there are.
    Where does MJ3 Relocations operate?
We source accommodation across the UK and publish detailed pages for the cities we work in most regularly. Availability varies by location and by the time of enquiry, so we will tell you what is realistic in a given area before you commit.
